On August 26, 2023, First Nation members of the Tlicho Government, and the Gwichin Tribal Council will be visiting the Nass Valley for a duration of 2 days. Their journey begins at the Nisga’a Lisims Government Legislature where they will be welcomed by Madam President, Eva Clayton and the honorable members of Wilp Si’ayuukhl Nisga’a. As words of encouragement are shared between cultures, traditional art piece exchanges have been presented in honor and respect.

Following the meeting, our guests are set to tour Hli Goothl Wilp-Adokshl Nisga'a / Nisga'a Museum and later join in on a culture night with the Laxgalts’ap Cultural Dancers. A traditional smorgasbord dinner will be provided featuring a variety of traditionally harvested Nass River Pacific salmon dishes.

On their final day, the Tlicho and Gwichin delegations have expressed interest in learning more about specific areas of NLG administration and will break into groups to receive presentations from NLG Directors and staff in the areas of Programs & Services, Capital, Housing & Infrastructure, Emergency Preparedness, Language and Culture, Economic Development, Industry Relations, Drummers and Youth.

Thank you Tlicho Government and Gwich'in Tribal Council for your visit to the Nass Valley, the sharing of cultures, government to government relations is truly an honor to have you as our guests and long time friends of the Nisga’a Nation.
